It all started one day
in April of 1965. John McDaniel purchased the corner of Black Lane
and Forest Blvd bond for deed. The property had six vehicles and
he had a determination to succeed. Soon after the land purchase,
a school bus found to be the perfect office—for the time being.
As land surrounding became available, the operation grew to encompass
the entire block as well as parts of two adjoining blocks approximately
eight acres in all.
After one fire, one
flood and a tornado, Black Lane Auto Parts, Inc. now houses one
of St. Louis’ best automotive recycling facilities. Approximately
800-1000 vehicles a year are processed. Trucks, autos, imports
and domestics, current year and back, nothing escapes. Known for
very high quality in service, parts, inventory and customer relationships,
Black Lane Auto Parts has grown to be one of the best reputable
recycling yards not only in St. Louis but in all of southern Illinois
as well.
